It was a day to launch two firsts for India in the field of neurology—the Centre for Brain Health & Preventive Neurology and the Neuroimmunology Centre of Excellence. The initiatives mark 25 years of innovation by Amrita Hospital, Kochi’s Department of Neurosciences.
In her message, Amma expressed gratitude for the hard work and dedication of the doctors, nurses, and all others who have served in the department. She said caring for patients with love and compassion is a duty to be undertaken as a sacred austerity.
Legendary actor Sri Mohanlal openly spoke about how the neurology team’s loving care for his own mother’s neurological disorders has been an invaluable support.
Dr Siby Gopinath is the Head of the Department. She shared how neurosciences, especially in fields like neuroplasticity, mind-body medicine, and consciousness studies, are beginning to echo ancient insights from yogic and Vedantic traditions.
